Rumor Today: Apple Spinning Off iTunes Music Store?

MacDailyNews picked up a story in briefing.com that Apple is rumored to be spinning off the iTunes Music Store as a separate entity, which would mean that this is the first company from Apple after the FileMaker-Claris-Newton era.

My feel is that this is unlikely, as iTunes Music Store exists to sell iPods, not to make huge profits. Same idea as ClarisWork.
